Hi! madcity girl! Wanted to point you to the original recipe - maybe bring something to my more pared down version :) I usually max out the lime juice and mint - and soak the tomatoes in the lime juice, EVOO mixture before adding them as well. Adds flavor. Here's the original from gluten free goddess:

hi!

I tried to make these but with not so much success. Maybe you can help me with a few things.

I too had trouble finding matcha powder but I did find some organic green tea powder at a health food place. It's really concentrated, so I need to play with how much I use because my frosting was definitely green, not the pretty cream colored green.

1) regarding the frosting, when you put the sugar, flour and matcha in the saucepan and whisk is it just to mix it together or should the sugar melt down?

2) then once you add the cream and milk did you leave it on the stove based on time? My mixture started boiling after about ten minutes and seemed to be thickening so I took it off but then once I mixed everything together my frosting never really became frosting... it stayed kind of runny, even after refrigerating and beating it again.

thanks!

After reading this line "The bag was still back at the house—and it was too late to do anything about that." I fully expected you to follow it with: "So I just swam in a sweatshirt and jeans. To compensate for not having goggles I simply kept my eyes closed the entire time and swam from memory. Despite these set backs, and the fact that I had given two pints of blood the night before, I was still the first female out of the water...."

Perhaps I've built the legend of Kristin up too much in my head? ;) Congratulations of defending the title and great report!

Your hard work this summer has really taken you to the next level. You had a MAJOR PR!! My favorite quote these days is "If you want something you have never had, you have to do something you have never done". You have been working harder than ever! Keep it up!
